Laytown & Bettystown Lawn Tennis Club

Laytown & Bettystown Lawn Tennis Club was established over 100 years ago. Originally the club was part of Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club. Starting off with just two tennis courts, the club has now expanded to five savannah courts all of which are floodlit.

All standards of tennis are played in the club and each year teams participate in the Dublin Lawn Tennis Association league matches. The club has a very good record of success in these leagues, amongst others.

Laytown & Bettystown Lawn Tennis Club also have their own in-house professional tennis coach. Junior coaching runs throughout the year with as many as 150 children in the coaching program. From as young as the age of six, the Juniors are learning new skills and above all having fun and keeping fit. When the coaching stops, our coach often runs tennis fun camps over the school holiday period.

The club has also enjoyed international success. One Junior player represented Ireland at Under 14 and Under 16s. The club has won several Junior Leagues in the last few years, competing against up to 18 other teams in each league.

With over 300 members in the club, there is always a welcome for new joiners. The club boasts a friendly atmosphere, with social tennis played every Thursday night, rain or shine. Members of the club come from throughout the North East coast.
