Junior Summer League
Well done to the boys U12 team who won their final match in the Summer League on Sun 26thMay against Donnybrook in Naas. The boys excelled in their play and did themselves and the club proud. Many thanks to the parents who supported the teams in this league and also those who drove ourjunior members to their matches.
Junior Coaching

Registration for Junior Coaching takes place in the clubhouse between 10-12 Saturday the 20th of April. Coaching will begin on 4th May and is for 5 sessions.
The coaching fee is 40 euro. Juniors who are on squad teams will also pay the squad fee of 20 euro.
Coaching Fees can be paid online using Esy Payments Plus (Feepay).

The great run for the boys under 17 team came to an end last Sunday when the team took on Carrickmines. Well done on a great result in this league overall boys.

Well done to the boys under 17 team who made it through to the semi finals of the Junior league. The semi final match is at home tomorrow against Carrickmines.

Well done to our junior members who competed in the recent DLTC Junior league. The boys under 17 team topped their group while girls under 17 came 2nd in their group. The boys under 14 (team 1) also came 2nd in their group. These 3 teams have made it to the knockout stages. Well done to the players, parents and David Black.

The fixtures for the Junior Club Championships are now posted on Tournament Software. The Junior clubs will run from Saturday 18th August to Friday 24th August. Best of luck to everyone who entered!
Junior Open Competitions In Other Clubs

It is possible for children to play in Open Tennis Competitions in lots of other Clubs from U8 age-group up.
To find out about these, go to www.leinstertennis.ie/juniors and look at the left-hand panel. Competitions are advertised here ca. 2 weeks before they happen. You can enter online or by phone.
It you want to play seriously you can get a Tennis Ireland ID number, which will track your progress from one competition to another. However this is not essential.
These competitions give children an opportunity to play against new opposition and they enjoy playing in different environments.
U8, U9 and U10 competitions are generally round robin format with emphasis on fun rather than winning. The competitions last 2-3 hours, with children playing a series of short matches.
David will be running round robins on Mondays and Tuesdays during the summer school
holidays starting Monday 2nd July as follows.
July Round Robins
Under 8′s Mondays 1pm to 2pm
Under 10’s Mondays 2pm to 4pm
Under 14’s Mondays 4pm to 6m
Under 12’s Tuesdays 1pm to 3pm
Under 16’s Tuesdays 3pm to 5pm
During August the round robins will be scheduled during the weeks where there is no
junior tournament – week 2 and 4
Junior Ladders

The junior ladders for 2012 will be up in the club on 6th July. Rules and contact numbers for challenge matches are beside the ladders on the notice board in the club house – so start challenging and get to know some of your club members! Seeding for the club championships will be based on this ladder.
North East Open

The North East open will run between Saturday the 4th of August with finals day on Saturday 11th August. This is always a big event in the junior calendar with juniors from many outside clubs attending.

The junior club championship is scheduled to begin Saturday the 18th August with finals on Friday 24th August. This is always a fun week for juniors with a plate giving all participants at least two matches to play.
