Senior Matchplay Doubles

Senior Matchplay doubles event starts Monday 16th Jan with final night on Friday 17th Feb. To enter text your name and your partner’s name to David on 086 3259920. Entry fee €10 per player. There will be five weeks for teams to complete the round robin stage of this event.

Come along to our ‘Red Carpet Party’ on Sunday 8th May at 3pm! This will be our official opening of the
newly resurfaced courts – a party not to be missed! There’ll be a mixed doubles tournament, bbq’d food
and drink and some fun thrown in.

Malahide Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club Invitation Doubles Team Tournament – 4th – 8th May.

The tournament is divided into two sections: Section A for Class 2, 3 & 4 and Section B for Class 5 and lower. All players must be over 18 years of age. A team will be made up of 6 players, 3 ladies and 3 men who will play a ladies doubles, mens doubles and mixed doubles.
Qualifying rounds will be played from Weds 4th May to Friday 6th May. You only play one of the 3 nights. Play starts at 6.45 each night. Qualifying teams will play in the finals on Sunday 8th May.

Winter League Finals - Laytown & Bettystown LTC v Malahide – Class 5

The 2nd men’s team put up a great fight on Sunday against a very strong Malahide team in Sutton Tennis Club. Unfortunately they were pipped at the post 2-1. Well done to Tom McDowell, James Gillen, Damien Hetherington, Richard Berney, Kieron Sutton and Paddy McCullen for playing terrific tennis and best of luck for next year in Class 4!

Best of luck to the Men’s 2nd team in the finals this Sunday. The finals take place in Sutton Tennis Club at 1pm. All support would be gratefully appreciated!

Many congratulations to everyone who played in the Winter League this year. We have had very good results all round. Currently three of the four men’s teams are through to the quarter finals, so we wish them the very best of luck in their matches this weekend!

The Senior Club Championships start on August 17th and run until August 28th. Closing dates for entries are Friday 13th August.
