Winter League Update

The club had great results in the 2013 winter league and the 4 teams who made it to the QF/SF weekend had some fabulous results. A mammoth weekend of playoff matches has just passed even in the extremely wintery coditions. The mens 1st team played Wicklow at home and lost out in a 2:1 playoff. The mens 3rd team also had a tight tussle against Wicklow and lost out in a 2:1 tussle.
The Ladies 1st team made it to the semi final round with a quarer final win over Trinity at home where they set up a Sunday afternoon clash against Wicklow. Unfortunatley Wicklow proved too strong on this occasion.
The Ladies 2 nd team also won their quarter final match against Castleknock on Saturday at home. However the opposition of Fitzwilliam on Sunday proved too strong on the day.
Well done to all team members, subs and team captains who gave the club great results in 2013 Winter league. Also many thanks to all who supported the teams in the group and playoff stages. Your support to the teams especially for home matches is appreciated.
Winter League Update

We have 3 great R16 matches happening this Sunday (3rd March) at home. At 9.30am the Mens 3rdteam play St Marys followed up by the Mens 2nd team playing at 11am against Carrickmines. Then at 2pm the Ladies 2ndteam play Wicklow. If you have some time on Sunday come down to the club and support your fellow members who are looking to get to QF stage in this years Winter league.
Senior Doubles Matchplay

Well done to all our members who played in the doubles matchplay event. The finals night was held on 1st March and there were some very good matches played on finals night. There was a good turnout of supporters for this night too which marks the first senior members event in the club calendar.
New Doubles Ladder

Names are currently being taken for a doubles ladder in the club. Names must be on the list by Friday 1st March 2013. This ladder will be used to help in team selections for furture leagues. Any member interested in playing league must participate on the ladder, while it is optional for all other members. To participate in this ladder simply submit your own name as the ladder will be based on non established partnerships. Further information will be available after 1st March or contact David.

Members interested in playing in the 2013 summer league are asked to put their name on the list in the club by 1st March 2013. This league has 7 members per team with 3 members playing singles and 4 playing doubles.Please note that the only way to express your interest in this league is by putting your name on the sheet, David is not taking text requests.

With the group stages for the winter league now complete the club has 5 out of its 7 teams though to the playoff stages next week. All 3 mens teams topped their groups and the Ladies 1st and 2nd team followed up with similar results. The Ladies 3rd team won all 3 matches today with two very tight 3 setters being squeezed out by Bronagh McDonaugh and Jane Butler and Rosie Quinn and Barbara Murphy. Unfortunatley this team was pipped at the post for a playoff stage as both Glasnevin and WW Clontarf got through to the knockout stages. Well done to the Ladies 3rd and 4th teams who played some great tennis over the last 5 weeks.
Next Sunday will see the club hosting some knockout stages games so keep your eye out on the website and facebook page for updates. If your free next Sunday pop into the club to give some support to our teams.

Well done to our Winter league teams 6 out of the 7 teams won their matches yesterday which is a great result for the teams and the club and leaves the teams in very good positions for the knockout stages. With one week of the group stages left all 3 mens teams are through to the playoffs of their respective groups. The ladies 1st and 2nd teams have booked their places in the knockout stages while the 3rd Ladies team are looking to secure their position on Sunday 24th Feb. The Ladies 4th team are looking forward to their final group match against Glasnevin.
Good luck to all our teams this Sunday the home matches this weekend are the Mens 2nd team against Malahide at 11am. This will be followedby one Ladies home match at 2pm which sees the 3rd teamtake on Navan. If you free on Sunday at some of these times maybe you could pop in and support the teams.

Well done to our Winter league teams who are now more than halfway through the group stages. 6 out of the 7 teams won their matches yesterday which is a great result for the teams and the club. Next Sunday the home matches are Mens 3rd team against Sutton at 11am. There are two Ladies home matches on Sunday with the Ladies 1st team against Navan at 2pm, followed by the Ladies 4th team at 3.30pm against Mount Pleasant. If you free on Sunday at some of these times maybe you could pop in and support the teams.

The wintery conditions have gotten the better of the Senior doubles matchplay this year. To give everybody a chance to play their matches the finals night will now take place on Friday 1st March. All groups and rules are on the noticeboard in club house. The €10 entry fee is to be given to David before Wednesday 20th February. All matches must be played by 27th February and the finals night will be held on Friday 1st March. Any questions contact David. Good luck to all and enjoy!

Well done to the 3 Mens teams and the 1st and 2nd Ladies teams who won their matches yesterday. Well done to the Ladies 1st team in the Senior league who have made it through to the finals which will take place on Sunday 21st Oct against Sutton.Welldone to the Mens 1st team who made it to the semi final of their class on Sunday. Unfortunately Blackrock proved too strong on thi soccasion. Also well done to the Men’s 2nd team who played their quarter final match last Saturday against Navan, unfortunately Navan proved too strong on Saturday.

Senior Club Championships

The fixtures for the Senior Club Championships are now posted on Tournament Software. The Senior clubs will run from Thursday 16th August to Sunday 26th August. Best of luck to everyone who entered!
Well done to the 3rd ladies team who won their quarter final match against Mount Pleasant on Saturday to reach the semi finals on Tuesday night. The semi final match will be at home at 7.30pm to Meadowvale. We wish the girls best of luck on Tuesday.
Well done to the Ladies 1st team who played their quarter final match against Castleknock on Saturday. Castleknock proved to be the stronger team and ended the 1st team’s campaign in this years Summer league.
East Coast Senior Open 2012
Laytown & Bettystown Lawn Tennis Club are proud to host our 4th East Coast Senior Open tournament from June 23rd – July 1st. As ever we hope for a great number of entries and superb tennis. Entry fees must be paid in full before you play your first match. Fees can be paid by cash, cheque or through feepay. Feepay payments must be made by 8pm on Friday 22ndJune.
